‘Project Management Center' (PMC) only needs a computer with internet access and a common web browser. An installation is absolutely unnecessary – you even don't have to configure or change your network.
Prior to work with PCM you have to register at global-work.net
Registration is made online. It is sufficient enough to complete the following form. If registration is transmitted, you will get an e-mail for confirmation.
Without any delay you are able to work
with your projects.
At creation time, you have to define the name of the project and the project status. If status is ‘online', project can be handled completely. Select ‘readonly' to prevent documents from modification. The access ‘read' stills remains. If you want to deny any access to your project, select ‘obsolete'.
In addition you are able to insert a description.
After creation of a project, you can change at any time the name, the status or the description. Simply click under “view project” on the symbol
For structuring the documents within your projects, you can create, rename or delete folders. For these actions you have adequate symbols.
First obtain the e-mail address of the business partners, whom you want to allow access to your projects. Now you have the opportunity with menu ‘Company-users' to create extra users. If you want you can assign different administration rights to those users.
You are able to change or delete these settings at any time.
With the icon (User-role) in ‘View project', you define the users who will get access to your project. For this purpose you only enter the users e-mail address. If this user doesn't have a PMC- account till now, it will be automatically created by the system.
Now you can define the individual permissions for that user to this project.
Special advantage of PMC: Register any number of users or create any size of project structure. This has no effect on your account balance. Only used disk space and data traffic will be invoiced.
After you have created your projects, you can immediately fill up the projects with your desired files. Therefore select the project folder you want to upload e.g. some CAD-documents. Select the following symbol for uploading the files: (Upload new files).
The File browser will be opened. Select the desired date. The encrypted transfer is starting.
There is also a window where you can see the remaining time for the upload process. This is very useful if you have to provide data with amounts of many Megabytes.
Now define the permissions or deny several partners to read this file.
You use this option when e.g. some competitors work within the same project.
By the way, permissions can be changed at any time.
With the tracking-service inside PMC you have the opportunity to get information about all changes concerning your products.
Your project partner now can log in to PMC and download the provided file with the icon:
Of course, the download is encrypted. Now your partner works with your document.
When he has finished his work, he uploads the file for you. Files can also be uploaded with automated versioning.
Your partner can choose between 2 options to upload his file:
He creates a new version of your original file or he selects a new filename.
So the system does two jobs for you:
- There is no possibility to change original data
- The option ‘new version' provides you with the information about the changes already done.
Your project partner also has the right to define the permissions on his own files.
